Relaxing Weekend...Sort Of!

The weekend didn't start off so well. Friday afternoon my boyfriend Mike came over and we had planned on going over to our friends Greg and Jessica's house for some drinks but around 7:00 he started having some tension in his chest. (side note: in the last several months Mike has been to several doctors, has had blood test after blood test, and x rays. You name it he's had it done and they still don't know what's causing him problems.) He was so concerned that we headed to the ER. More blood test and more x rays later they now think that he has damage to his esophagus. They gave him a whole list of things he can't eat and drink so hopefully that will help make him feel better along with the medicine. His doctor said that they will call him after they look closer at the x rays. Poor guy! We were finally able to leave at 11:30pm and ended up crashing as soon as we got home!

Saturday he was feeling much better so we had a light breakfast and then headed out to enjoy the awesome weather! 80 degrees in July- in Arkansas...WOO HOO! We drove around town with the windows down and the sunroof open. Ahhhh! We ended up at Locomotion and played a round of putt putt and fed the fish from the bridge. I wish I would have remembered my camera cause the fish and turtles they have in there are HUGE! I ended up losing at putt putt. Mike had back to back to back hole in ones! Afterwards were ready for lunch so we picked up some sandwiches from Schlotzky's and hung out at the house and watched movies for the rest of the night.

Today has been the most relaxing day of the weekend. We slept in, read the Sunday paper, and had breakfast. After Mike left, I hung out all afternoon in my pj's, went to the gym after dinner, and now I'm settling in for some TV. I am WAY behind on the DVR! I'm hoping I can knock some of it out tonight. One my favorites, Big Brother, is on at 7pm! Mike and I both picked who we thought would win this season and of course the guy I picked, Braden, was the first one to be evicted. Just my luck! Hopefully Mike's pick, Casey, will make it a little longer!

Oh and and late Saturday night I got a text from my friend Kammy saying that she got engaged! YAY! Congrats to you guys!

I'm back!

Well I didn't start off so great. The last two months have been a little hectic. There's been lots of change, good and bad. First off my roommate Abbe moved out at the beginning of May, I lost my job the end of May and now I'm getting ready to go back to school after a 5 year break. EKKK! Oh and by the way I HATE change so it seems that I usually make it ten times worse! I have realized though that I love living by myself, it's not too bad not having a job during the summer (except for the whole money thing), and I'm actually getting excited about being back on campus.

You would think that I would have all kinds of free time but it seems every day is non stop till I drop in bed. There have been so many projects that have needed to be done but I've either not had time or the room. So I have plan to cross them off my list this summer.

I had three Rubbermaid totes of pictures from the last 10 years that were not in any kind of order. Actually they were just thrown in. So I emptied them all out in the extra bedroom and worked on it for two weeks. No lie! Every picture is either in a photo album or photo box. I'm so proud of the finished project.

I've got all my "spring cleaning" done! That was the first thing I worked on. Cleaning is my therapy and I love it. It has me work out the ups and downs! I keep a very clean house but I really got in the corners and scrubbed.

I also have had time to work on my backyard flower beds. I live in a rent house and they are currently widening the road that I live on so everything looks so blah but I have really worked hard on the back yard so that I have at least one place to look at beautiful flowers!

In between those projects I have been able to visit family, hang out with friends, celebrate friends birthdays, naturals baseball games, Fourth of July cookout and fireworks, shopping, movies, and most of all hang out with my wonderful boyfriend Mike.

That's just a quick recap. I have a new laptop so I'm hoping that I will be able to keep up with this better! Stay tune!

Another Rainy Day

Spring is by far my favorite season. Everything is so green and the flowers are beautiful! It has been raining for a good three weeks (minus a couple of days) in Northwest Arkansas. Blah! I know that come July we will be begging for some rain but right now I'm ready for a break.

At least it's the weekend! My best friend, Abbe and I are going to dinner tonight and then we're heading to the Boom Boom Room to listen to a band called Mama Sweet. Should be a good time. Abbe just finished her finals on Wednesday and I'm sure she's ready to enjoy her first weekend school free! Not only do Abbe and I work at the same place but we're also roomates. For the last couple of months she has been swamped with school and we really haven't been able to hang out so I looking foward to tonight! Saturday (weather permitting) I'm going to head to the local farmers market to pick up some fresh vegetables and flowers. It's also graduation day at the U of A. My good friend, Angie, is coming to town to watch her boyfriend graduate. She's going to crash on our couch that night so we'll be able to visit! Yipee! Most importantly, Sunday is Mother's Day and I can't wait to spend some time with my Momma!

Getting Started!

I have decided to start this blog for a couple of reasons. Number one reason being that this will be a great place to store memories. I can remember the big life changing events but it seems I can't remember the little things and I'm hoping this will help. Number two, I needed another outlet (other than friends, family, and cleaning) just to vent! Most importantly number three, hopefully family and friends that I don't keep in contact with as much as I like, will be able to come here and read about all the happenings in my life. We'll see where this goes!
