{hogs win!}

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble,
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror,
'Cause I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me,
I must be one hell of a man
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble,
When you're an ARKANSAS RAZORBACK fan...GO HOGS!

Mike and I went to the Arkansas basketball game tonight. The HOGS played Kentucky and won in overtime. It was such a great game and a good win for the HOGS and Coach Pelphrey! So happy we were able to see it in person!

(water for elephants}

Just finished Water for Elephants and loved it! It's probably in my top five favorite books ever. I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down.

Abbe had read it and told me that I needed to read it soon so that we could go watch the movie this Spring. I'm usually not a fan of books made into movies but after watching the trailer, I'm so excited. I love Reese Witherspoon and I think Robert Patterson will play, Jacob, perfectly.

{flip flops and sandles)

I am SO ready for flip flop and sandal weather. I really wanted to wear a pair this past weekend but it just wasn't warm enough. Plus, I'm in desperate need of a pedi! Here are some of the styles I am loving right now. I could probably post a ton of pictures since I love flip flops so much but I narrowed it down to just a few.
The first 3 styles are from aldo.com

These next two styles are from Target and I actually just bought both of them last week!

I have heard great things about Yellowbox flip flops so I must own a pair this summer! It will be hard for me to pick one out of these 3 styles!

Now all I need is warmer weather!

{catching up}

A couple of weeks ago we had a crazy snow storm here in NWA. We went to bed Tuesday night thinking we might have 3-5 inches of snow but woke up to 17 inches! I couldn't believe it. I have never seen that much snow before.
Up to my knees!

Our cars didn't leave the driveway for several days.

We got bored enough by day 2 to try out the ear candles I bought at the natural food store. I have done them several times before but this was Mike's first time!
Thursday morning it was -16 degrees. BBBBBRRRRR!
Friday night we HAD to get out of the house so we met some friends out for pizza then headed to George's to watch our most favortist band, Reckless Kelly! They put on a fantastic show!
This past Monday was Valentines Day! We celebrated by having a date night. Mike choose Burger Life for dinner and I choose No Strings Attached for the movie.
Friday was the season opener for the baseball HOGS! It felt so good to be back at the ballpark!

That's what has been going on with us!

{ahhh- snow!}

I. AM. SO. OVER. SNOW.
We woke up Tuesday morning to the sound of sleet hitting the bedroom window. By noon we had about a fourth of an inch of ice and 4 inches of snow.
We have ate all the brownies.
We have put together two puzzles.
We have watched 4 movies, finished the laundry, cleaned the house, surfed the Internet, played many Words with Friends games, and made snow ice cream.
That was all in day one.
What is left to do for day two?!

{devil's den}

The weather was absolutely beautiful here in NWA yesterday! I heard that the temperature got up to 74 degrees. In January?! I'll take it though since freezing rain and snow are in the forecast for Tuesday. That's Arkansas weather for you!
Mike had a softball tournament all weekend and I had planned on doing housework and homework. I was excited to get an email early Saturday morning saying that some friends of mine were getting together at Devil's Den to enjoy the weather and have a picnic. I didn't know if I was going to be able to make it since I had so much to do around the house, but I was able to finish up and head that way that afternoon. We enjoyed grilling burgers, eating cupcakes, playing dominoes, and just being out in the sunshine!
I now long for Spring- baseball, flowers, warmer days, green trees, camping, and canoeing! I think I still have a couple of months wait though. Guess I will curl up on the couch with a book and hot chocolate instead.

{date night}

Last night we had a date night! Even though Mike and I live together and spend most of our time together we still like to take time out our crazy schedules to have a good old fashion date night- dinner and a movie! For dinner we went to a local restaurant in Fayetteville called, Burger Life. We love this place because you can custom make your burger from start to end. Mike will mix and match crazy ingredients that I would never think of and his burger is always so good. I usually stick with my usual, mushroom and swiss burger. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area. Plus, it's in the same parking lot as the Razorback Malco movie theater so you can just walk to the movies.

Afterwards we watched True Grit. We were running a little late but I didn't think think we would have a problem finding a seat since the movie has been out over a month. I was shocked when we walked in and it was packed. You would have thought it was opening weekend!
I have not seen the original True Grit so I didn't really know what to expect. I won't say a lot so that I won't ruin for it for others but I really, really liked it! I loved the comedy that came out of such a serious situation. I think it's a must watch if you haven't seen it.

I look forward to date night from the minute we start planning it. I hope that we always take the time to spend special time with each other!

{words}

I have been completely obsessed with Words with Friends since I got my iPhone a year ago. It was the first app I got and is the one app I use the most (facebook is a very close second). I always have 8-10 games going on at the same time and there are days where Mike and I will sit on the couch and play against each other with out even saying a word. I think I may have a problem!
I got my highest score on one word yesterday against Mike. 99- so proud!

{snow day}

We got 4 inches of snow this morning!
I got up at 3:30am to see what the weather was doing and we had about an inch. At 6:55am I woke up again and had to look out the window to see how much more snow had fallen. I get so giddy when it starts to snow. Just like a kid!
It's been so nice staying in our pj's and not even thinking about having to leave the house. I did venture out for about 5 mins to take some pictures.
This is the HOG that sits on our front porch. He got a little bit of snow on him!

I'm not going to lie- it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if we had another snow day tomorrow!

BFF Day!

Abbe and I had planned a trip to Hot Springs last weekend for opening weekend at Oaklawn to watch the horse races. Unfortunately the weather had different plans for us. Hot Springs had gotten tons of snow a few days before and it was just plain cold down there so the trip has been postponed till April or May. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and be warmer so we can enjoy rooting on the ponies track side!

We did however plan a BFF day Friday!
We started the day off at the movies to watch Country Strong. I had not heard very good things about this movie but for some reason I really wanted to see it. I LOVED it- when the credits started running I wanted to stay in my seat and watch it again.

Next up- Mani/Pedi's! YAY!
After a little shopping we met Crystal at Copelands for dinner and drinks and this fabulous dessert that we shared!

I always enjoy time with Abbe but I really needed a day like we had!
