BFF Day!

Abbe and I had planned a trip to Hot Springs last weekend for opening weekend at Oaklawn to watch the horse races. Unfortunately the weather had different plans for us. Hot Springs had gotten tons of snow a few days before and it was just plain cold down there so the trip has been postponed till April or May. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and be warmer so we can enjoy rooting on the ponies track side!

We did however plan a BFF day Friday!

We started the day off at the movies to watch Country Strong. I had not heard very good things about this movie but for some reason I really wanted to see it. I LOVED it- when the credits started running I wanted to stay in my seat and watch it again.

Next up- Mani/Pedi's! YAY!

After a little shopping we met Crystal at Copelands for dinner and drinks and this fabulous dessert that we shared!

I always enjoy time with Abbe but I really needed a day like we had!

I got this guy for Christmas from Mike!

I was so excited when I opened it because I've wanted a reader for a couple of years now.

So I've decided to pick out several books that I plan to read in 2011.

I'm almost done with my first book of the year, Happy Ever After. This is the fourth book in the Bridal Quartet and I've loved all them.
I may not read them in this order but here are the other 11 books:

I've heard great things about all of these books so I'm really looking forward to reading them!

Another Birthday!

Another birthday in the books! My birthday morning started of with Mike going to daylight donuts and bringing back my favs- chocolate long johns and sausage and cheese biscuits. YUMMY!

Then I opened my gift from him. He got me some perfume that I've wanted for awhile now.

I work in retail, so unfortunately I have always had to work on my birthday since it's two days before Christmas. The girls at the store are so sweet and brought in balloons and petit fours. Another YUMMY!

After work, I headed home for a nap and a bubble bath and then got ready to meet some friends out for dinner and a movie. We had such a great time visiting that we ended up missing the start time of our movie. The best surprise of the night- my friend David surprised me and came to the restaurant! He lives in NYC and I haven't seen him in over a year.
I always have a great time with this group and I was so glad everyone came!

I had a fantastic birthday and can't wait to see what this year has in store for me!

Christmas Lights!

Last weekend we went to the square to see the Christmas light display. Every year they do an amazing job and this year did not disappoint. I think we picked the coldest night in December so far. It was so miserably cold that we walked one time around the square and then practically ran to the warm car.

Lately

MIA- again!

I have been in a blogging rut this whole year with the exception of a few post.

I hate that I didn't do very well.

It is so nice to be able to look back at our day and day lives and remember great memories.

I'm going to try again to stay on top of blogging.

Why even have a blog if you don't blog!?

Sick Days

I woke up Tuesday morning and knew that I just didn't feel right. I decided to go ahead and go to school and even went to work that afternoon. By Tuesday night, I had a sore throat and a lot of pressure behind my ears, under my eyes, and my forehead. I knew there was nothing I could do until the morning so I took some NyQuil and hoped for a good nights sleep.

After tossing and turning and not sleeping for most of the night I decided to head to my doctor's office early Wednesday morning. He said that I have strep throat and a sinus infection. Blah! He gave me a prescription for Amoxcillin and told me to take Aleve for the headaches caused from the the sinus pressure.

He also told me that I needed not to go to work or have a lot of contact with anyone because I could be contagious. Which has been so hard cause all I want are snuggles and kisses from Mike and he can't even come near me.

So I've spent the last two days in bed.

I'm hoping that I can make it out of the house tomorrow and go to work for a little bit! Fingers crossed, cause I'm already going stir crazy!
