KC Girls Weekend!

A couple of months ago, Abbe started planning a girls weekend up to Kansas City. As soon as I heard the plans I knew I had to go. Saturday morning, we headed up to Paola, Kansas for the Roots Music Festival. We went to listen to Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. It was my first time to see them live and they were amazing! I think it's fair to say we're all hooked and will be at the Tulsa and Ft Smith shows in October!

Sunday morning we made our way into Kansas City for Worlds of Fun. We spent 6 hours there riding rollercoasters and water rides.

We were absolutely exhausted, sunburned, and some of us hurting by the time we got home late Sunday night but it was so worth it! Can't wait to do it again with the girls!

I'm Back!

I hate that I have gone pretty much the whole summer without updating my blog. Between working, keeping up with the house, and spending time with M, I haven't had any interest or time for blogging. The last part of July and most of August is "THE" time of the year at my job and I must say, I'm exhausted from the 60 hour work weeks. Don't get me wrong, I absoultey love my job/position but there have been times this summer I have felt completley stressed out and overwhelmed. That being said I'm excited to say that the "Back To School" season is over as of today! I feel like I can finally breath and get back to my "normal" life. Here's some things we've got planned:

  • Eli Young show at the AMP.
  • Salon/Spa day this Friday- 2 hour massage, mani/pedi, facial, and haircut.
  • Girls weekend in Kansas City.
  • First HOG football game of the season.
  • THREE day weekend for Labor Day.
  • Anniversary trip with M to Branson.
  • CCR and Reckless Kelly concert.
  • Abbe's birthday camping trip.

Saturday Afternoon Date

Mike and I had a Saturday afternoon date this past weekend. It was so nice to spend the day together and do our favorite things.
We spent the morning at the Farmers' Market and got these beautiful flowers:
For lunch we ate at our favorite local Mexican restaurant:
Next up- a movie! We decided to watch Grown Ups and both ended up laughing through the whole movie.
After the movie we wondered around Home Depot. Mike needed some tools for his new job and I looked at all the "things" I would love to have if we were ever able to build a house. After hitting up Sonic happy hour we headed to Gator Golf for a game of putt putt.

I needed a day of fun and really enjoyed the time with Mike!

Goo Goo Dolls and Hog Baseball

When I was a freshman at the U of A, the Goo Goo Dolls put on a concert at Barnhill Arena. It was my first concert and at the time the Goo Goo Dolls were pretty big. We ended up with third row tickets and had a blast! So I was pretty excited to hear that they were coming back to town to play at the AMP. Abbe and I started the night off with dinner at a local sushi restaurant and then made our way to the AMP. There were a lot more people there then I thought would be. It was a perfect night in NWA and they put on a great show. We had lawn tickets and weren't able to get too close but we were fine hanging back with some margarita's!

Saturday night I met some friends out at, Louie's, to watch the first game of the Razorback/Arizona State super regional. It was so nice to visit with everyone but the game was horrible!

Sunday has been so lazy. I did get the laundry done and the house picked up, but not much more other than that. We're watching game two of the super regional right now and it's not looking so good for the HOGS. Hope they can pull out a win and keep the season alive.
Have a great week!

Arkansas Baseball

We spent all last weekend at Baum stadium watching the HOGS play in the regional. I was able to take Friday afternoon off from work so Mike, Abbe and I spent the afternoon in the outfield. We had a great time cheering the HOGS on to a 19-7 victory!
Mike and I decided we wanted to go back Saturday night but because I worked late we were a little late getting there and didn't get the best of seats. It was a great nice for baseball and they got the win.

We still had a really good time. They lost on Sunday night but played again Monday night and won so they are moving on to a super regional against Arizona St. this weekend. If they win this weekend the HOGS will be going to Omaha and you better believe we will be there!

Boring!

We've been spending a lot of time close to home so there hasn't been a whole lot of exciting things happening with us lately therefor not a lot to blog about. We have some fun things plan for the summer though so hopefully I'll be back to blogging soon!
